Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's boxing match.
Ex twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I will break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving huge paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly happening.
